o Keynote 1: Dr. Bum Soo Kim – National Defence, Scientist (20 min including Q&A).
Dr. Bumsoo Kim is a defence scientist at Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC).
He also teaches at the University of Ottawa as a part-time professor since 1998. He has been adjunct professor at the University of Ottawa and at the Ryerson University. He served Association of Korean-Canadian Scientists and Engineers (AKCSE) as 17th president in 2008/2009 where he is serving now as the Chair of Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering committee. Dr. Kim received Korean Presidential Award in 2014 in honour of serving Korean Canadian community for many years in many functions as the principal of Ottawa Korean language school, advisor for Korean-Canadian Association of Ottawa (KCAO), and a member of National Unification Advisory Council.
o Keynote 2: Mr. Philippe Crépeau – Radio-Canada, Sports Journalist (20 min including Q&A)
Bio: Philippe Crépeau has been working for Radio-Canada, at the sports department, for more than 25 years. He started in 1988, the year South Korea and Seoul welcomed the world for the Olympic games. He might not be a young prospect anymore, but he is still passionate about broadcasting, sports and particularly auto racing. He was in Sochi Olympic in 2014 as a commentator in bobsleigh, and he intends to be in PyeongChang for the 2018 Olympic winter games.

Group A: “Career Choice?” – Host: MCM – KangHyuk Lee, Sandra Kim
“This will be a dynamic session where the students will have an opportunity to interact directly freely with mentors in various disciplines-. Students are welcome to walk around and talk to all the mentors that will be present at the session. Part I will feature a Keynote presentation by Ms Hyunsoo Shim, Senior Director, Strategic Service Partners, Ariba and Business Network, followed by a networking session with select mentors. Part II will feature a Q&A Panel with selected mentors.”

Francois will be also available, at the MKLCC booth, for one-on-one Resume analysis and improvement.
o Part 2: 4:45pm-5:30pm (Martin Jung) The interview game will be “Put yourself in interviewer’s shoes”. So, “I would like to give a chance that student (future interviewee) will be a role playing of interviewer to know what kind of question will be useful to know interviewee.”
Group C: “What They Want from You - Student Perspective : How to qualify for student internship/research position?”

“This session will incorporate expertise and experiences from Victor Chisholm, the McGill Science Internship Officer, and Dr. Tami Pereg-Barnea, Assistant Professor in the Physics Department of McGill University, to inform and enlighten students on the matter of academic proportions of research opportunities.”

o Part 2: 4:45pm-5:30pm “Canadian and Korean workplace cultures: Do you know the agencies?" Host: National Unification Advisory Council (NUAC) - Yeona Jang of McGill & Sung Nam Hong of VOKO Radio
“In this 45 minute session, you can meet the panel members from international NGOs and UN agencies who will share with you what kinds of experience and skills can help you find a job in the space of the international NGO and UN agencies, along with what motivated them to pursue their career.”
“This 45 minute session will introduce participants to the dimensions of national culture that shape the Canadian workplace. It will focus on the behaviours, skills, power structures and communication styles that are most valued by employers and companies in Canada. Participants will come away with a better understanding of what is expected of them as workers and what the differential nuances are between Korean and Canadian workplaces.”
Group E “Are you interested in working for the Public Service in Canada?” Host: Ms. Angela Longo of Canadian Federal Government- Public Service Commission
o “Come join a representative of the Public Service Commission who will facilitate a Dynamic Group Session to see what the benefits are for employment within the Public service, and how the following apply to all potential candidates who have an equal chance to apply, Types of job opportunities, the hiring process, Student Recruitment Programs,Language Requirements, Understanding a Job Advertisement Website”

Panelists: Seo Young Yoon & Annick Munyana, Community organizer of the NDG Community Council;
“Professor Chung will give a speech on the possible benefits of volunteer work (value, career, social skills, community welfare) and strategies of succeeding in volunteer work (15 min). Two panelists will present their views on volunteer work (5 min. each). This will be followed by a general discussion for the remaining time of Part 1”

FCCCQ has received many applications from students for scholarship in Sep-Oct. Mr. Young kwon Kim will award the FCCCQ scholarships to selected students (20 min). This will be followed by short acceptance speeches by scholarship recipients (10 min). Prosecutor Sandra Kim, one of the presenters of the scholarships, will give some tips to students who are interested in attending Quebec bar school, and/or want to get a job in the legal field in public sector(15 min).
